No. After PeerJS helps the browsers discover each other, the file data travels directly over WebRTC between the sender and receiver.
Can I transfer images and videos?
Yes. Droply transfers binary files, including images, videos, archives, PDFs, and other file types. The receiver verifies the file contents before downloading.
How do I connect two devices?
Open Droply on both devices. On the sending device, share the six-character peer code or QR code. On the receiving device, enter the code and select Connect & Receive.
Do both devices need to stay open?
Yes. Droply is a live peer-to-peer transfer, so both browser pages must remain open until the transfer finishes.
Will it work on different networks?
Usually, yes. PeerJS and WebRTC handle discovery across most home and mobile networks. Strict firewalls may block a direct route unless a TURN relay is configured.
Is there a file-size limit?
Droply does not set an application file-size limit. Very large files still depend on available device storage, browser limits, and the stability of the network connection.
Why did my connection fail?
Check that both devices are online, the code is current, and both pages are open. Corporate, school, or carrier networks can also restrict WebRTC connections.
